Raagam Hindustani Bass C Natural Bamboo Flute

Raagam Flute is possibly only known flute with defined placement of Shruties according to Raga System.

Traditional Shruties system of 22 Shruties by Bharat Muni is taken.

Shruties selected in North Indian Style of flute out of 22 Shruties are as

Shadaj -1 , Rishabh - 5, Gandhar -8, Madhyam - 12, Pancham - 14, Dhaiyvat - 18, Nishad - 21.

These Notes are from Indian Musical scale and it will not match chromatic scale, equal temperament, Pythagorean, Just temperament etc.

Hindustani Variant of Raagam Flutes are dominantly checked by playing Raga Yaman by professionals as all open notes of Flute are of Raga Yaman.

Tuning of flute is synchronized with Tanpura(Drone) instrument for perfect mingling of notes .

Antar-Gandhar and Kakli-Nishad are not used in Hindustani Music, so these Shruties are not placed on standard Raagam Hindustani Style of flute, but on demand, specific Shruties along with these Shruties can be placed on Hindustani style of flute too.

"Shadaj - Pancham Bhav" between companion Swars(Notes) are also maintained for tuning the Flute.

Flutes are indigenous designed for producing Jawaari (Harmonic Overtones), Octave stability and Amplitude Balance between lower and higher notes.

Designed and tuned by Hand casting, as per algorithms introduced by Pt. Madhu Soodan Kaushik.

Workmanship

- Hand Made.

- Finishing and polishing of flute is done by Sandpaper Buffing by hands.

- Flutes Ends are protected by tying threads to protect Flute from accidental dropping and cracks by frequent weather changes.

Note - Tying threads on centre body of flute is not recommended as we and some artist also found dampness in sound after doing so.

Warranty

Tuning of flute is covered under replacement warranty. Physical damage, wear and tear are not covered in warranty. Whereas, Damage during transit are covered, please report as you receive the item.

Note:- Please read carefully about the flute before ordering, as this is a Tanpura Tuned Flute, for Indian Classical Music, whereas, it can be used for Fusion too with Chromatic Music Scale (known as Equal Temperament). But in that case only base Note will match the synthesizer.
